Introduction
The 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China | North China | Beijing will be held on Friday, April 25th, 2025. This is one of the most significant events of the Benelux Chamber each year, providing an invaluable opportunity to review the chamber's activities, assess its financial standing, and offer a well-founded outlook for the year ahead. We highly appreciate and strongly encourage all members to attend, as your participation is essential to the continued success and development of the chamber.
We look forward to presenting the challenges we faced in 2024 in the most transparent manner possible. However, we are even more excited to share how the Benelux Chamber, following a strong first quarter in 2025, has set ambitious goals to sustain and build upon this success throughout the remainder of the year.
The number of Benelux professionals in Beijing has decreased in recent years, and both macro economic challenges on a global scale and micro challenges specific to foreign businesses operating in China have intensified. In light of these factors, we believe it is more important than ever for the Belgian, Dutch, and Luxembourgish business communities to unite and seek common ground. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to join us at the AGM.
Board Elections
The AGM will also serve as the occasion for the election or re-election of board members. The Benelux Chamber consistently seeks dedicated and talented individuals who are eager to contribute to the strategic guidance and management of the chamber. In order to be considered as a candidate for the Board of Directors, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Representing the Benelux Chamber as a board member is a significant responsibility, offering both professional growth and valuable opportunities for networking. Serving on the Board provides access to influential connections and opens doors to new possibilities. Board members are expected to play a central role in the governance of the chamber, leading and guiding its strategic direction. At the same time, they are tasked with engaging our members in specialized committees and industry-focused working groups, ensuring that the chamber's initiatives remain relevant and aligned with the needs of our community.
If you are interested in joining the Board of the Benelux Chamber, please submit an email outlining your background and motivation to one of our current board members and/or to President Tom Hoogendijk at tom@bencham.org - Kindly ensure that you also CC the Benelux Chamber Office Manager, Claire, at claire@bencham.org in your communication.
